The
Art Institute Online
Get the design skills you need to succeed. Programs
are specially designed for people like you who are trying
to balance work and an education.
The Art Institute Online is a division of The
Art Institute of Pittsburgh, established in 1921. For many
years, The Art Institute has tailored its programs to meet
the demands of an evolving job market. There are many technology
driven programs as well as a classic curriculum prepared with
the help of program specific advisory boards made up of industry
professionals.
Students at The Art Institute Online login to
their classes five out of seven days a week, without regard
to their physical location or time of day. All a student needs
is access to the Internet and the specified computer hardware
and software. Students develop their own capabilities and
talents using many informational sources, including lectures,
readings, life experience, projects and group discussions.
Courses are offered in a six-week intensive format that requires
students to complete assignments and participate in online
discussions five days per week. Students may complete their
work at any time during a 24-hour period. Students are encouraged
to take a maximum of two courses during each six-week session.
Most students spend a minimum of 12 hours per week and an
average of two to three hours each of those five days reading
notes, preparing assignments, responding to discussions, etc.
Financial aid is available in the form of loans
and grants if you meet all of the eligibility requirements.
